1970-Plymouth-Barracuda-440-Shaker-Hood-RestoredCheck out this 1970 Plymouth Barracuda 440 – a show quality example of a “high performance E-Body fish”, restored to “better than” factory condition. The owner had an appraisal done last year and and it was given a true # 1 condition based on national standards by John Crank and Tony Rankin in Austin, Texas. They have more than 60 years of combined professional experience selling, restoring, collecting and appraising investment quality automobiles, and personally told him that this was an outstanding example of national show quality just completed frame off rotisserie restoration, and one of the nicest they had seen in years.

It has a 440 CID Motor, pistol grip 4-speed, 391 shure grip differential, shaker hood with a large radiator and 11 inch factory clutch. Rally dash with 150 speedometer. It has front disc brakes and front and rear sway bars. A one way vac valve on brake booster and snap in mounting bracket for fuel filter. Fuel pump and starter are high performance and way better than the original. Read more!

This car was born with a 318 cubic inch motor with a 3-speed, in Curious Yellow. Same owner for 35 years, with over 25 years and many fine donors it has become one of the most sought after E-Body clones with all original factory parts, including an original factory grill. It also has a new stereo system that was installed without altering the dash in any way. Vintage AC easily installed. It was restored in Texas, driven onto a Transport truck and then straight into storage. The restoration on this car was done very meticulously down to every nut and bolt. Every part is either new or restored. It is ready to run cross country like a striped ass ape!

As quoted in the appraisal “1970 is arguably the most desirable year to own as it embodies John Herlitz’s original aggressive design with its more attractive two headlight nose, and is one of only two years where this revolutionary styling could be mated to several truly high performance engines. With it’s period correct Plymouth big block engine, 440-6 hood, 4-speed, this is a classic car in true #1 condition and great patience and skill was taken in restoring it to better than new condition. There is no way to create or restore a Barracuda to the standards of this vehicle without having owned many excellent donor cars for years, and accumulating what are now very rare parts over decades.”
